Our client wanted to trade in the tan and red color scheme of her home, into something a little more soothing and serene. We wanted to bring in contrast and lots of texture to add depth. We started by painting the bold red walls a soft pale blue, contrasted with a dark charcoal ceiling to bring your eye upward. Their once, all matching dining room set, is now replaced with unique pieces that have varying wood tones, to help give a collected not ‘off the showroom floor’ look.
The contrast to these rustic pieces is brought in through new dining room chairs. The feminine lines on the chairs, paired with a neutral color palette, help soften up the edges. The lead chairs in a funky velvet bring texture and contrast to the understated side chairs. Bringing a tree bark wall treatment in the niche packs in even more unexpected texture to the space. Pairing soft draperies and area rug with metal details, such as the new sconces, side chair nailheads,and ceiling fixture, rounds out the theme of the space-changing a once dark, monotone space into a sophisticated, inviting roo
